Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-06-07
These terms govern your use of Monsieur, a web application for hotels. The service is operated by Paulo Rosario, an individual sole trader (in Portugal, a "trabalhador independente") based in Tomar, Portugal, trading under the brand interpt ("interpt", "we", "us", "our"). interpt is not a company; it is one person trading under a brand name. You can find our fiscal and contact details in section 11.
The service is provided at monsieurapp.io and at the tenant subdomains and custom domains connected to it. By creating a Monsieuraccount or using the service, you agree to these terms on behalf of the hotel or business you represent ("Customer", "you", "your"). These terms are a business-to-business agreement; the service is sold to hotels and other businesses, not to consumers.
1. Who we are
Monsieur is operated by Paulo Rosario, a sole trader in Tomar, Portugal. Because the seller is an individual and not a company, there is no corporate entity behind the brand; the person named here is the contracting party. Our fiscal number is PT253648920 and our registered address is Av. Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira, 52, 2300-532, Tomar, Portugal.
2. The service
Monsieur is a multi-tenant web application that lets your hotel offer in-room ordering, a digital guest directory, and service booking to your guests. Guests scan a room QR code and use a branded web app in their browser, with no app to install, available in several languages. Your staff manage menus, orders, content, and bookings from a console, with orders shown on a live kitchen display. We provide the software, hosting, and reasonable maintenance for the duration of your subscription. You operate the service for your own guests and remain responsible for the content you publish and the data you collect through it.
3. Accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the actions taken under your account by your staff users. You agree to give accurate account and billing information and to keep it up to date.
You may not (a) use the service to publish content that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others; (b) load personal data into the service that you have no lawful basis to process; (c) attempt to break the isolation between tenants or access another hotel's data; (d) probe, scan, or stress the infrastructure beyond what your own normal use requires; or (e) resell or sublicense the service to third parties without our written consent. We may suspend an account that materially threatens the service or other tenants, and where practical we will tell you first.
4. Plans, trial, and prices
We offer the plans published on our pricing page. At the time of writing these are Petit at 49 euros per month, Maitre at 149 euros per month, and Palace at 299 euros per month, plus a Grand Hotel plan for multi-property estates that is priced on request. All prices are per month and exclude any applicable taxes. The pricing page is the current source of truth; if a price here and on the pricing page ever differ, the pricing page governs.
New customers can use the service free for 30 calendar days from account creation. You add a payment card when you start the trial, but we do not charge it during the trial: the first charge is taken when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
5. Billing, renewal, and cancellation
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until cancelled by either party. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until that point, and we do not refund the part of a period already started unless the law requires it.
If a payment fails, we retry it and keep your account active during a 14-day grace period. After that, an unpaid account is suspended. We retain your data for 30 days after cancellation so you can re-subscribe or export it, and for up to 90 days after suspension for non-payment before deletion. See our privacy policy for the full retention detail.
6. Your data and your guests' data
You keep all rights to the menus, brand assets, content, and order data you put into the service. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display that content only as needed to run the service for you. We do not sell your data, do not use it to train third-party models, and do not share it with other tenants.
For the personal data of your guests that flows through your tenant (for example guest names, room numbers, orders, and booking details), you are the data controller and we act only as your data processor, on your documented instructions. That means you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect guest data, for telling your guests how their data is used, and for handling their requests. Our commitments as your processor, and a Data Processing Agreement you can sign, are set out on our GDPR and data protection page.
7. Service availability and support
We work to keep the service available and reliable, and we host it in the European Union. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. From time to time we carry out maintenance, and parts of the service may be unavailable during that work; where we plan it in advance we will try to give notice. Support is provided by email; some plans add live chat or a dedicated contact, as described on the pricing page.
8. Limitation of liability
interpt is a one-person business, and our liability is limited accordingly. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising in any rolling twelve-month period is capped at the total fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of or damage to data beyond restoring the most recent available backup. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when we add features, change how pricing works, or need to meet legal or regulatory requirements. We announce material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, by email to the account owner. If you keep using the service after the effective date, that counts as accepting the updated terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. The courts of Portugal have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, save for any mandatory rules of your own jurisdiction that apply regardless.
