The guest side

Instead of filling in a card at the counter, the guest gets a secure link before arrival and completes check-in on their own phone. No app, no account, just a short stepped form that saves as they go, so an interruption never means starting over.

They add the lead traveller's details, anyone else in the party, their expected arrival time and a note if they have one. Where you ask for it, they upload a photo of an ID document and add a typed signature to confirm. The exact fields follow the rules of the country you operate in, so guests are only asked for what actually applies.

If a city or tourist tax applies, the guest sees a clear preview of it during check-in. It reads in the same seven languages as the rest of the app, so a guest who does not speak the local language can still complete it.

Every completed check-in arrives on the staff arrivals board, drawn automatically from your upcoming stays within the window you set. Your team can send or resend the pre-arrival invite by email, confirm a guest's ID in person against what they submitted, and work a compliance queue rather than a stack of paper.

When a guest cannot use the link, staff can complete or attest the check-in by hand, so nobody is ever stuck. Guest details are encrypted at rest and purged on a retention schedule you are not left to manage yourself.

For hotels in Portugal, Monsieur is built to submit the boletim de alojamento electronically to SEF and AIMA through the SIBA service, using your hotel's own SIBA credentials. You enter them once, validate them without sending any guest data, and the arrivals queue handles the rest.

Monsieur creates a check-in for each upcoming stay in your pre-arrival window and emails the guest a secure link. You can resend it any time.

They fill in the party details, arrival time, any ID photo and a signature, in their own language, and it saves as they go.

Reception confirms on arrival

The completed check-in is on your arrivals board. Staff confirm the ID in person and, for Portuguese properties with SIBA connected, the registration is filed electronically.

Do guests need an app or account to check in?

No. They open a secure link on their own phone and complete a short, resumable form. There is nothing to download and no password to create.

Does it collect ID documents and a signature?

It can. Where you enable it and the country's rules allow, the guest uploads a photo of an ID document and adds a typed signature. Both the details and the image are encrypted at rest.

Can it handle guest registration for the authorities?

In Portugal, Monsieur is built to file the boletim de alojamento with SEF and AIMA over SIBA using your own credentials. In other countries it keeps a clean, structured record of every arrival; tell us where you operate and we will confirm what applies.

Is online check-in included in my plan?

Yes. You switch it on in settings, choose the country you operate in and set how many days before arrival the invite goes out. There is no separate add-on.
